Nikki Taylor

Nikki Taylor trained at Wimbledon School of Art in portrait/life sculpture using traditional mediums. However she is now best known for her sensuous figure sculptures in wire mesh, combining traditional sculpture skills with her own unique processes to create diaphanous but deceptively robust figures.

Nikki's choice of wire mesh as a medium is to transcend the solidity of conventional materials and attempt to represent the duality of our bodies. Her works have an almost ephemeral quality, enhanced by the illusion of complete weightlessness achieved with their suspension.

Nikki is involved in a variety of public art projects in connection with the 2012 Olympics and athletes who have posed for her life size full body portraits include Tom Daley and Jason Gardener MBE.  She exhibits predominantly in the UK, but has work in private collections in six continents.
